What have we here?
From Versailles we went to the Arc D' Triomphe only to stumble on the ending of the Tour de France. Photo as seen from the top of the Arc.

Evening in Paris
Dinner on the moonlit cobblestone Rue Cler in Paris with my Kathleen Kiehl Clanfield. We share a carafe of Bordeaux. I have poulet covered with greens and asparagus with lemon and tomato paste to accompani', then for a stroll and a gelato fleur. Love is in the air.

668 steps!
Walked to the second tier and an elevator to the top. Mom is the greatest! I followed her up just to make sure. Got a picture of us together at the summit, but in the other camera.

Portabello Road
Portabello road is a very long road of a multitude of shops with the initial group of antique shops. Very interesting and we picked up a few fine gifts. Also, I taped some of the locals talking which was fun. We snacked from a waffle shop seen in the picture.

Quarantined: Day 3
Nothing too much to report today once again. I was looking forward to an afternoon full of cleaning up and getting some things done, but alas I was called in to work to cover someones shift and ended up being there from 11-9. On the bright side, I ended up getting one of the new salads from wendys... delish
It seems as though Rocket misses his Mom, he's been acting quite depressed today with the lack of fun and has been crying at the door whenever I get home...
Hope London is treating you well!
Pub Crawl
Lamb shank for me with a pint of Guinness, fish and chips for the lady with a pint of diet coke. Then off to another pub and a half pint of Strongbow for the lady and 2 pints of local ale for me.

The best hot chocolate ever.
Yesterday we went to the British Library to see the Magna Carta and several hand written lyrics of the Beatles, but really looked forward to the hot chocolate. Disappointment. Not the same as 2009. However, today toured the British Gallery and saw iconic works of art and the cafe had the best hot chocolate in the world (at least to our palates). Also had another round of tea, scones and strawberries with cream.

Reviewing the guards at Buckingham Palace
Got great views of the changing of the guards today. At this point we felt like giving the royal wave given our vantage point.

Come again?
To get a blank stare from a Londoner, simply ask where the restroom is located. I think they give me directions to a hotel. They are called toilets I have discovered.

Quarantined: Day 2
Well here goes my first blog entry.. Hopefully it doesn't come out too jumbled!
Life at home has started to get dull. I really didn't think it would have been possible to get bored this quickly, but even playing soccer has gone dull without brent to play against. Alas I have been running around the house with rocket, running on the tredmill and getting groceries (as you can see above.) I've actually filled my down time with reading Harry Potter instead as well, and I think I might go to the driving range today as well if the heat cools down.
Today is my only day off of the week, so I've been more than happy to relax and hang around the house. Tonight I'm cooking up some chicken and putting it on a salad with ranch, so not exactly the cuisine you two are accustomed to by now.
Looks like everything is going well, I've enjoyed seeing the photos!
PS... For some reason I can't comment on any of your posts. I'll try to figure it out, but if you have any ideas let me know!

UW > U of I
Hearing my Dad sing the University of Illinois fight song reminds me of how much better "Varsity" is...along with the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Thanks, Dad!

Planning for the trip!
Well, let's see, we have a trip coming up. Best to review what the 2009 adventure and I have come across souvineer papers and such including my notes from that trip. First notes were about Bunny, Meredith's stuffed rabbit, who also made the trip. According to my interview with Meredith at that time, it was love at first sight for Meredith, best quality was it's portability, Bunny had been laundered only once in her lifetime, and Bunny was hospitalized once when her arm needed to be sown back on.

Getting ready for Europe
Kathy has been packing today already even though our trip is a few weeks away. It is difficult to decide on the right amount of clothes as we will be carrying them all throughout Europe. Also, she is deciding about sunglasses.
I have not been packing but rather played golf with the boys this evening.
